An innovative new multi-artist outdoor concert series touted as Re:SET is set to hit 12 cities across the United States this summer, featuring headlining acts LCD Soundsystem, Boygenius and Steve Lacy. Each stop will create a unique, localized experience for fans by allowing the headlining acts to curate the lineup for their respective day during their stays.
LCD Soundsystem will usher in tasteful and experimental electronic artists like Jamie xx, the United Kingdom’s IDLES, New Orleans’ Big Freedia and multi-instrumentalist L’Rain and more during their tenure. boygenius will welcome their indie contemporaries during their day, with artists like Clario, Dijon and Bartees Strange joining. Steve Lacy will ride a unicycle down the tightrope of the genre with defying artists James Blake, Toro y Moi and Fousheé in tow.
Re:Set will take place over four weekends in June, with each weekend seeing three cities in the same region of the U.S. hosting, with each headliner playing each city on consecutive days. The arrangement was designed as an artist and fan-friendly alternative to the usual summer concert experience. The concept makes fans able to see full sets from every artist on one stage with no conflicts while the artist has a break from the usual summer itinerary of amphitheaters.
“We challenged ourselves to conceive an event that would give both the artists and the fans a different experience,” said the President of Global Touring and Talent at AEG Presents Gary Gersh, in a press release. “At the end of the day, they both want the same thing: great locations, incredible sound, fantastic sightlines, and the best local options for food and drinks. Re:SET is a very fairly priced, artist-driven weekend where you can hang with friends and enjoy an evening of amazing music.”
Participating cities include San Diego, Los Angeles and the Bay Area of California in the West Coast; New Orleans, Atlanta and Dallas in the south; New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., in the North East; and Nashville, Chicago and Columbus, Ohio in Middle America.
