Susan Boyle returned to the “Britain’s Got Talent” stage June 4, revealing that she suffered a minor stroke that nearly took her voice.
The 62-year-old Scotland native performed “I Dreamed a Dream” with the West End cast of “Les Misérables” 14 years after she shocked the world with the same show tune during her audition in 2009.
“It feels great [to be back],” Boyle said Sunday after the full-circle performance.
“It’s extra special for me, actually. Because last April there, I suffered a minor stroke,” she said.
“I have fought like crazy to get back onstage and I have done it,” she added to the audience’s applause.
The show’s creator and panelist Simon Cowell, 63, also had sweet words for Boyle, telling her: “Susan, we owe you so much.”
“And I knew you weren’t well, but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back because we wouldn’t be the same without you,” he told her. “You are amazing.”
Boyle also celebrated her comeback in an Instagram post.
“Tonight I had the privilege of returning to @bgt and performing with the wonderful cast of @lesmizofficial. This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022 I had a stroke,” she wrote to her 83,200 followers.
Boyle continued: “For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’ “
A rep for Boyle declined to comment to The Post.
Boyle released her debut album in 2009 after placing second on “BGT.” She went on to release seven more albums in 10 years.
Her latest studio album, “Ten,” dropped in 2019.
Boyle’s first audition now has over 25 million views on the show’s official YouTube channel.
