WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin made an appearance at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, spending most of his appearance wrestling with an unwieldy ATV.
Entering the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday evening atop the four-wheeler, Austin was greeted by crowds chanting the 60-year-old’s name.
The WWE Hall of Famer, who retired from in-ring competition in 2003, was filmed making his grand entrance, where a ramp had been placed intended for him to drive up on the ATV to reach the main stage.
Intending to do exactly that, Austin underestimated the vehicle’s turning circle, missed the ramp entirely, and came to a stop in a dead end. Attempting to reverse out of the narrow alcove, Austin veered backward into the ramp, prompting venue staff to approach and wiggle him free.
Successfully mounting the ramp on his second attempt, Austin stopped briefly for a double fist-pump before proceeding to the ring to drive circles around it.
Stone Cold knocks woman over with ATV
Unfortunately, the ATV wasn’t done refusing to play ball. Midway through his second lap of the ring, Austin veered into the arena’s security barrier, causing a woman in the front row to fall over.
“Those security barriers are severely strong, thankfully,” came one commentator’s response following the collision. It’s unclear if the woman who fell over suffered any injuries.
Austin raised his hand, presumably in apology, after colliding with the barrier and attempted to back the ATV out of the barrier to no avail, ultimately dismounting the vehicle after he was unable to get it free.
In addition to attending wrestling events, Austin hosts the Steve Austin Show and Broken Skull Sessions podcasts. Whether the WWE star’s WrestleMania 41 appearance will come up in conversation during episodes of either remains to be seen, but it’d come as no surprise if Austin would rather sweep it all under the rug.
