P!NK helped wrapped up the 2024 DNC in style, delivering a rousing performance of “What About Us” with her daughter Willow.
While P!NK has been a vocal ally of various causes throughout her career, particularly in regards to support for women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ community, this is the award-winning artist’s first performance at a political event.
This year’s Democratic National Convention has seen the Chicago crowd in generally high spirits while welcoming artists like Stevie Wonder, Lil John, Jason Isbell, John Legend, and Maren Morris. Earlier in the evening, The Chicks set the mood with the national anthem, joining Isbell and Morris as the latest country-adjacent artists to take a firm step away from the historically conservative-leaning genre.
Throughout the week, the delegation’s nomination process for Kamala Harris was scored by songs representing each state, ranging from Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind.”
The timing of the 2024 DNC aligned perfectly with P!NK’s ongoing “Summer Carnival Tour,” which takes over Chicago’s Soldier Field on Saturday. See P!NK’s full list of upcoming tour dates, and get tickets here.
