PlaqueBoyMax suddenly leaves FaZe Clan as fans speculate about why

FaZe Clan content creator and music producer PlaqueBoyMax has announced he’s leaving the organization after more than a year on the roster.

The 22-year-old confirmed the news during an August 5 livestream, telling viewers he’s “ready to embark” on a new chapter and focus on his own projects.

“Yes, I am leaving FaZe,” Max said. “I can’t fully go into depth why I’m leaving FaZe, but I am leaving and I’m ready to… make 5$TAR the biggest possible, make myself the biggest possible. Just keep working like we have for the past four years.”

PlaqueBoyMax says joining FaZe “changed my life”

Max reflected on his time with the group, calling it “one of the best decisions” he’s ever made. “This sh*t changed my life,” he said.

Earlier that evening, fellow streamer YourRAGE told his viewers the departure was “real” and “not a troll,” adding that Max was moving on to “different paths” while stressing he still had “all the love in the world” for him.

Real name Maxwell Elliot Dent, PlaqueBoyMax joined FaZe Clan in April 2024. He gained popularity for his ‘In the Booth’ series, recording music live on Twitch with various rappers, as well as his Song Wars competition.

While Max did not give a specific reason for leaving FaZe, the move comes as he continues to build his music career following the release of his album Five Forever in May.

His exit also follows a turbulent week for FaZe Clan, which saw FaZe Banks step down as CEO amid allegations of rug-pulling a cryptocurrency, which he denied.
