MANILA, Philippines – OPM star mrld brings the “7th Sense” to life at the grand showcase of her debut album on April 27, at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome in Quezon City.
The concert marked a significant milestone for the 20-year-old Cebuano singer-songwriter, who rose to fame by posting bedroom covers on the internet during the pandemic, and has now made a name for herself in the local music scene.
The artist sang her well-known hits such as “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You,” “Ligaya,” and “Sandali,” the latter performance featuring a special dance number accompanied by pyrotechnics.
Fellow O/C Records artists set the tone for the evening, with indie band Healy After Dark and P-pop girl group G22 hyping up the crowd as opening acts. The night featured surprise collaborations, including a performance with Ryannah J on an unreleased track called “Kundikaw,” previously teased on mrld’s social media platforms. She also shared the stage with Adie for a special duet rendition of “Ikaw Pa Rin” from her 7th Sense album.
Halfway into the setlist, mrld teared up before performing one of her songs entitled “Dear You,” dedicated to her mother, who was in attendance alongside her father, both parents watching the singer perform on the big stage for the first time.
The young star also took a moment to acknowledge OPM singer and O/C Records founder Kean Cipriano for producing her song “Hanggang sa Magsawa” and showing his support throughout her musical journey. – Rappler.com
