Michael Bublé seemingly admitted that he was tripping on mushrooms while serving as a celebrity captain for the NHL All-Star Game on Thursday night
“My buddy told me, ‘this is just a microdose of mushrooms,’ and he was lying,” Bublé said during a post-game media press conference. “So, I’ll be honest, I thought I was in Blades of Glory for most of the time that I was out there, until it sort of settled down and then I realized, ‘Holy shit, I am in the NHL All-Star Game.”
Bublé later backtracked the admission when approached by YouTuber Steve Dangle during the evening’s dinner: “It was a joke,” Bublé said in a video Dangle shared to Twitter. “Of course I wasn’t [on mushrooms]! I’m sitting here at dinner. I do have a problem with bread. When I get anxious, I can’t stop eating it. But no, not mushrooms.”
So, whether or not Bublé was feeling extra good is still a mystery. See some videos of both interactions below.
At last summer’s Outside Lands Festival, Bublé made a surprise appearance during Foo Fighters’ set, helping the band welcome their new drummer Josh Freese with a rendition of “Haven’t Met You Yet.”

Michael Buble answering a question about his fantasy hockey team that turns into how he took too many mushrooms isn’t the press conference we wanted, it’s the press conference we needed. #NHLAllStar @MichaelBuble pic.twitter.com/Gg1Qb3z6F3
