For three weeks, Summer for the City brings the Festival Orchestra to the Lincoln Center for as little as $5.

If you’re in New York City this summer, looking for a low-cost way to spend some time, look no further than the Lincoln Center. For as little as $5 from Saturday, July 19, through Saturday, August 9, you can catch a series of concerts courtesy of the Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City. These concerts use a unique “Choose Your Price” structure with a $5 minimum.

The concerts comprise the Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center series, highlighting musicians from across the world who routinely perform at the Lincoln Center. You might know the Festival Orchestra under its previous iteration, the Mostly Mozart Festival.

Among those scheduled to perform this year include Lincoln Center’s Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Jonathan Heyward, who is responsible for the series’ programming, conducting Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Also featured are Karen Kamensek conducting Bizet’s Symphony in C, Joana Carneiro conducting Ravel and Prokofiev, and Dame Jane Glover conducting Michael Abel’s “More Seasons,” Tchaikovsky, and Mozart.

Other works scheduled to be performed include Brahms’ contemporary Emilie Mayer’s Faust Overture, the New York premiere of Anna Clyne’s Glasslands, and the fan favorite Symphony of Choice. Symphony of Choice utilizes voice-to-text technology, allowing audiences to choose the evening’s selections from a list of the festival’s upcoming performances for the opening night. Heyward will also conduct that evening, which will be simulcast for free in the lobby of David Geffen Hall.

However, recent flooding due to heavy rains in the city might put a damper on any plans in Lincoln Square this week. AMC announced today that a “significant amount of water” entered a portion of the lower levels of the building. A spokesperson for the theater chain said impacted auditoriums and other affected areas will remain closed for repairs and will reopen on Tuesday, July 22.

“Impacted auditoriums and other affected areas of the theatre will remain closed as remediation work is underway,” read a statement from AMC. “Refunds will be issued automatically for tickets purchased to affected showtimes.”

The fourth annual Summer for the City is already underway, with Comedy Underground, Concerts at Damrosch Park, BAAND Together Dance Festival, and Run AMOC* Festival. Silent Disco is also running, featuring DJs Heather Flock and Laura Jeffers, DJ Mina, Daiel Costta, and DJ Mari Mac Dowell.
