The frightening incident occurred on Thursday evening and was captured by ABC 7 Eyewitness News. The media outlet was filming as Karol G’s private jet made an emergency landing on a runway at the Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles.
They shared the video on X alongside a lengthy caption explaining the mid-air emergency over SoCal. The flight crew reported there was smoke in the cockpit and swiftly found the closest runway to touch down.
The group reportedly departed from Burbank but only made it to the Cajon Pass before the pilot reported the emergency and turned the plane around. They safely arrived at the Van Nuys Airport around 9 p.m. with emergency vehicles waiting on the runway.
