On Thursday night, Elvis Costello & The Imposters performed at the Rooftop at Pier 17. Costello, who is on tour spotlighting songs from The Boy Named It welcomed his old bandmate Allan Mayes and revisited songs from their teenage band, Rust. He also bought out Nicole Atkins to perform “My Most Beautiful Mistake” and “Still Too Soon To Know.” Then, opener Nick Lowe (who played a set with Los Straitjackets) appeared on “Indoor Fireworks” and an all-in cover of “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding.” Under a full super moon, Costello closed out the show with “Pump It Up” and a gorgeous rendition of “Alison.” Bill Kelly shares these images from the evening.
