As you can see from her Instagram post, Kitley spends a lot of time at the beach. OrthoSouth.org states that spending time at the beach has a lot of health benefits. “Walking on the beach has proven benefits to your emotional and mental health. A 2019 study found that spending at least two hours in nature per week helps lower levels of cortisol, a primary stress hormone. It also increased overall feelings of well-being. Walking along the shore each day is a simple but effective way to calm the cortisol response in your brain. Try a morning stroll to help you feel more awake and alert or an evening walk to relax and unwind.”

Kitley is extremely close to her sister, Raven. She says to Virginia Tech News that her sister inspires her to be more positive. “When I’m thinking about challenging myself, she’s definitely in the back of my mind. She’s just so positive about life and opportunities, and she wants to take advantage of everything she can, so that makes me want to do the same, even though the opportunities are different.”

Kitley shares a lot of her favorite foods on an Instagram story highlight. In one photo, she’s seen enjoying a plate of pasta. UH Hospitals states that cold pasta has a lot of health benefits. “When simple carbohydrates like pasta and rice are freshly cooked and hot, the starch molecules they contain are widely spaced and easy to break down and digest. They are converted very quickly into sugars in the stomach and small intestine and released into the bloodstream. If starchy foods are refrigerated after cooking, another process begins. As they cool down, the starch molecules begin to rearrange themselves, becoming more tightly packed in a process called retrogradation. Once the pasta is thoroughly chilled, the natural starches are converted into resistant starches, a type of fiber that is present in many plant foods.”
