Coldplay began the North American leg of their 2025 “Music of the Spheres World Tour” (get tickets here) at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California on May 31st and June 1st, with their signature LED bracelets, a career-spanning setlist, props, costumes, fireworks, and more.
The May 31st kick-off was technically Stanford Stadium’s first-ever live music experience, with the location predominately serving as the home of Stanford University’s football team. The show began with openers Elyanna (who later joined Coldplay for the Moon Music cuts “WE PRAY” and “GOOD FEELiNGS”) and Willow, followed by Coldplay’s performance at around 7:50 p.m. As with the rest of the “Music of the Spheres Tour,” the quartet divided their set into four acts: Planets, Moons, Stars, and Home.
The Planets segment featured the back-to-back opening songs “Higher Power” and “Adventure of a Lifetime,” followed by “Paradise” and “The Scientist.” They continued with the Moons segment beginning on the smaller B-stage, running through hits like “Viva La Vida,” “Magic,” and “Yellow.” With the sun fully set, the Stars segment began, with performances of “Clocks,” “Something Just like This,” “My Universe,” and more, concluding with an “everyone put your phones away and live in the moment”-style rendition of “Sky Full of Stars.”

After a huge fireworks display, the show concluded on a smaller C-stage in the center of the crowd, where Chris Martin and the band performed their usual improvised Jumbotron song (where Martin improvises songs based on people’s names in the audience), followed by the closers “Fix You,” “GOOD FEELiNGS,” and Moon Music lead single, “feelslikeimfallinginlove.” See Coldplay’s full setlist for their Stanford, California tour opener below, followed by several fan-captured videos of the evening.
