On Saturday, April 6, Lotus took the stage at Port Chester, N.Y.’s The Capitol Theatre for a transcendent third stop on its Spring Tour. At this engagement, the pathbreaking jam quintet served up its signature brand of electro-acoustic improvisation, highlighted by two freshly resurrected covers of Television and Radiohead and extended sit-ins from Dopapod keyboardist Eli Winderman and leSpecial’s Jonny Grusauskas. Together, the ensemble ripped through an evening of indelible, infectious grooves, made all the more rapturous by a hypnotic array of lighting and effects.
