Los Angeles trio Your Grandparents have returned with ‘White Flags,’ a track that showcases their seamless blend of hip-hop, soul, blues, and rock. The track arrives ahead of their upcoming album, The Dial, set for release on May 16, 2025, via their new label home, drink sum wtr.

‘White Flags’ finds the group—Cole Thompson, DaCosta, and Jean Carter—at their most introspective, contrasting fluid rap verses with ethereal melodies. Carter’s evocative hook, “I / I don’t raise white flags no more / I won’t change my mind / I don’t got no space,” resonates against a backdrop of shimmering guitar riffs and gentle, chiming keys.

Your Grandparents explain:

“‘White Flags’ is best described as a promise to oneself not to give up. The song draws inspiration from everyday struggles we all may face in society like mental health, relationships, and being part of marginalized communities. As creatives living in such times, we believe in the importance of creating art that reflects the social, political, and emotional mindsets of the people while also reflecting more personal aspects of ourselves.”

‘White Flags’ is out now.
