Winter and Hooky have released ‘horseshoe,’ the first single from their upcoming joint EP, Water Season, set for release on February 14 via Julia’s War Recordings.

A mesmerizing fusion of dreamy shoegaze and electronic textures, ‘horseshoe’ finds Brazilian-American artist Winter and Philadelphia’s electro-lo-fi duo Hooky crafting a song that feels both intimate and expansive. Driven by wiry guitars, twinkling drum machines, and Winter’s signature airy vocals, the track evokes a nostalgic, almost cinematic quality.

Accompanying the release is a self-directed music video, filmed in Philadelphia’s John Heinz Park and the Museum of Modern Art. The video mirrors the song’s introspective essence, portraying the trio’s newfound friendship and artistic synergy through candid moments and exploratory visuals.

Reflecting on the experience, Winter shares:

“I took the train to Philly and for a couple of days, we just jammed at Scott’s place for hours. It was this cool feeling of making new friends, exploring a city, and also making art together for the first time. It strangely felt like I had known them forever, even though it was the first time we were hanging out.”

With Water Season promising an evocative blend of lo-fi, indie, and electronica, ‘horseshoe’ serves as a captivating introduction to the sonic world Winter and Hooky have built together.
