It’s about gorram time! Just under two decades after the release of the Firefly film Serenity, the expanded deluxe edition of the movie’s score by David Newman is being pressed to vinyl. You wanna buy this wax? Well… you can, but you can also win a Newman-signed copy by entering below!
Out now from Varèse Sarabande, Serenity — The Deluxe Edition Soundtrack expands upon the original OST’s 23-track, 50-minute release to feature a whopping 54 tracks stretching 90 minutes long. Available on translucent blue and limited edition “Browncoat” double-LPs, each variant comes housed in a jacket featuring new, original artwork by illustrator Matt Sheean; a fold-out poster; and fresh liner notes written by Daniel Schweiger.
Limited to just 500 pressings, the “Browncoat” edition is only available through the Varèse Sarabande Vinyl Club — but we got our hands on one anyway. What’s more, we’ve got it signed by composer David Newman, who’s also known for scoring everything from Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey to The Sandlot to Galaxy Quest to Tommy Boy to Anastasia. We’ll smuggle this cargo to our grand prize winner and also deliver non-signed copies of the “Browncoat” edition to two runners-up.
