If you’re anything like me, new music discovery can sometimes feel like a bit of a struggle. My once dependable Spotify discovery methods aren’t hitting like they used to (and there’s a reason for that); I love my On Repeat playlist, but that, understandably, can get old. This feeling has led me here, to a new series I’d like to implement on a regular basis on Fan Chant.
Each month, I’ll run a Music Discovery survey with a specific prompt, in the hopes of broadening my horizons and learning about the bands, soloists, and songs that people love. This inaugural edition begs the question: What do you think is the most underrated K-pop song of all time?
I have a few answers — “Cinema” by CIX comes to mind first — but I want to hear from as many people as possible. Is there a 2nd-gen song that has stayed in your rotation? Is there a group that’s disbanded that gifted you with a song you still love? Or, is there an active and fairly popular group with a song that should’ve received a lot more love? Let me know!
