Amsterdam’s Eventix has announced a merger with French company Weezevent. As part of the transition, Eventix will now operate under the name Weeztix—though the company will remain an independent entity.
The merger creates a formidable presence in the European ticketing landscape, while maintaining separate product development and marketing approaches. Weeztix will continue to focus on its open API ticketing technology, while event organizers will gain access to Weezevent’s comprehensive suite of solutions including accreditation, cashless services, and access to control systems.
“We are proud to become Weeztix and to team up with the Weezevent group, as this creates new opportunities internationally and enhances our offering,” says Joost Aane, CEO of Weeztix. “Our existing customers will experience no changes—our team, product, and dedication remain the same.”
“By combining Weezevent and Eventix, we’re creating a powerful synergy that will enhance our offerings and provide greater value to event organizers all over Europe,” continues Pierre-Henri Deballon, CEO of Weezevent. “Together, we will continue to redefine the ticketing experience.”
Prior to the announcement and rebrand, Eventix entered into a partnership with Spotify in January. That collaboration allows live music organizers to list their events on Spotify through Eventix (now Weeztix) and promote their shows across multiple channels. The shows listed on Spotify link directly to a ticket shop powered by Weeztix, making it easier than ever for fans to move from listening to music to attending a live show. The move comes as Spotify integrates several live ticketing service partnerships to its offering.
The smart ticketing market in Europe is expected to reach a projected revenue of $10.45B+ by 2030. The European smart ticketing market generated a revenue of $4.57B in 2024 with an expected growth rate of $14.9% from 2025 to 2030. Country-wise, France is expected to register the highest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in that five-year period.
