After months of unrelenting hype, the night is finally upon us all: Rihanna has delivered her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
Generously, Rihanna allowed for the televised playing of football to take place both before and after her performance, which carried the formal (and decidedly new) title of the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show. Wearing a bright red jumpsuit, she performed a medley of her hits that included “Bitch Better Have My Money,” “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” and more. You can watch it above or on YouTube here.
ASAP Rocky was also captured watching Rihanna perform.
Here’s her full set list below.
Earlier this week, Rihanna held a press conference that included insight into not only the performance itself but also where she was at with regards to new music. As fans already know, Rihanna’s most recent studio album Anti turned seven years young last month. In the years since, updates on when to expect the follow-up have arrived somewhat sporadically. In October, Rihanna returned with the Oscar-nominated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever single “Lift Me Up.”
Addressing the new music topic in her press conference chat with Nadeska Alexis, Rihanna said she’s currently “feeling open” with her creativity.
“I’m feeling open to exploring, discovering, creating things that are new, things that are different, things that are off, weird. Might not ever make sense to my fans … I want to have fun with music,” she said at the time. Of course, these comments are in line with some of her past remarks about the seemingly-still-in-progress album.
The pre-Bowl agenda, expectedly, also included the rollout of a special collection from Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty label. Among the highlights from the limited edition run was the aptly named LVII Surprise Tee, which boasted a football-themed graphic of the singer that’s only seen when pulling up the shirt to reveal its underside.
