Influential trance music producer Ilan Bluestone capped his electrifying Dreamstate festival set over the weekend by trading his usual behind-the-decks position for one knee.
The Anjunabeats stalwart ended his performance on April 5th by bringing onstage his now-fiancée, Anisa Alvarado. As his 40th birthday cake rolled out, Bluestone orchestrated the ultimate crescendo by proposing to her before a crowd of euphoric festival-goers.

The British DJ, whose soaring productions have become staples in the global trance community, shared the moment on social media. For a guy who makes crowds feel big emotions every night, his own nerves caught him off guard.
“At the end of my Dreamstate set, right as my 40th birthday cake came out, I got on one knee and asked the biggest question of my life. I was nervous and had no idea what I was doing but she said YES!” Bluestone wrote. “To the love of my life, thank you for making that moment everything.”
