The 2022 BET Awards have kicked off, and while the winners and losers are the big focus, there are plenty of exciting performances to look forward to as well.
The list of artists playing at this year’s edition of the awards is extensive, with the likes of Lil Wayne, Jack Harlow, and Lizzo all lined up to deliver a track or two. Chance the Rapper and Joey Badass are set to perform “The Highs & the Lows,” while Chlöe has promised to bring a surprise track. Others taking the stage include Ella Mai, Latto, Muni Long, Givēon, and Doechii.
In addition to all the main stage performers, there’s also a number of musicians appearing as part of the Sean “Diddy” Combs tribute. Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The LOX, Bryson Tiller, and Faith Evans all showed up for that separate performance. For the full list of nominees and winners, see Complex’s roundup here.
In its 22nd year, the BET Awards has promised the show will offer up “the ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest, and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience—celebrating Black music’s present and future, and elevating the culture and being a driving force for social change.”
