The multi-time Grammy-winning vocal group Pentatonix have signed to Republic Records.
“Pentatonix have always stood apart,” said Jim Roppo, president/COO of Republic Corps Collective, in a statement on the signing. “There has never been a vocal group like them, and they’ve been able to completely reinvent both a capella and the holidays to the point where they’re synonymous with both. As a team, we’re so excited to partner with them and help execute their expansive vision for this next chapter.”
“We’re thrilled to kick off this new partnership with Republic!” said Pentatonix in a statement. “They’ve played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of so many artists we admire. After many great conversations with their team, we’re aligned on a shared vision to elevate our artistry to new heights. Here’s to an exciting journey ahead!”
Pentatonix are currently on the North American leg of their “Hallelujah! It’s a Christmas Tour.” Those dates, which included a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, conclude December 22 at Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
This year, the group wrote the title track for Netflix holiday rom-com Meet Me Next Christmas, appearing alongside Christina Milian and Devale Ellis. The film follows Milian’s character as she attempts to buy a ticket to Pentatonix’s Christmas Eve concert in New York.
Last year, Pentatonix released a best-of set, The Greatest Christmas Hits, which was led by the single “Please Santa Please.” Also in 2023, the band recorded a birthday song with Ringo Starr and Diane Warren. The former Beatle plays drums on “Happy Birthday Beautiful,” a composition by the Grammy and Emmy-winning songwriter. The song was a collaboration with American Greetings as part of an exclusive collection of birthday ecards.’
