Brooklyn-based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Cassie Wieland, known as Vines, has released her latest single, ‘I am my home.’ The atmospheric track is available now on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp.
‘I am my home’ is a hypnotic blend of synthesizers, vocoder vocals, and warped cello, culminating in a spellbinding wall of noise. The four-minute piece expands on Vines’ intimate and experimental sound, creating an immersive sonic experience. The track also follows a string of successful releases, including ‘being loved isn’t the same as being understood,’ which gained viral recognition on TikTok and significant streaming success.
Wieland explains:
“‘I am my home’ comes from a place of feeling isolated and helpless. This song is my reminder that my mind and body are my own, and nobody can change that. The sonic world is born from cello recordings that I repitched, bitcrushed, and blended with my own processed vocals.”
With her ability to craft lush, contemplative soundscapes, Vines continues to push the boundaries of ambient and experimental pop. Fans can also look forward to her debut performance at this year’s SXSW Music Festival, with more details on her schedule to be announced soon.
