While attending the Balenciaga Spring 23 show on Sunday, Kanye West claimed in a passing comment that he hasn’t physically touched paper money in years.
“I ain’t gonna lie to you, I ain’t touched cash in like four years,” Ye was caught on video saying backstage at the event, breaking into a big laugh. Someone can be heard reacting to Ye’s comment by saying, “Real wealth, real wealth.”
The Yeezy mogul spent Sunday in the Big Apple while his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and their four children flew to Italy to attend Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s wedding. At the Balenciaga show, West donned his signature oversized rubber boots and was seen hanging out with Pharrell Williams, Offset, Anna Wintour, and Chloe Sevigny. On his way out, the Donda hitmaker stopped to sign some autographs for adoring fans.
While Ye always has one foot in the fashion world, the 44-year-old star seems to be putting his other foot into the world of fast food. According to a cryptic Instagram post, Kanye and Muji’s industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa will soon redesign McDonald’s food packaging. While not much else is known about the collab, the oversized-boots enthusiast first linked with McDonald’s in February for an ad.
On the music side of things, this week could also be a massive one for Kanye. He recently said he plans to release his XXXTentacion-assisted single “True Love” to DSP’s on Friday. It’s unclear whether the Donda 2 cut has been reworked from what Kanye fans previously heard on the rapper’s Stem Player, but the track will also be included in X’s upcoming posthumous release Look At Me: The Album, which is the soundtrack to a forthcoming Hulu documentary of the same name focusing on X’s rise.
