Usher tells Extra he and Justin Bieber recently “managed to hang out” while on vacation, and can report back that the singer is “doing great,” just over a month after revealing he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
Bieber disclosed last month that he was dealing with facial paralysis, a symptom of Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The announcement was followed by the postponement of the remainder of his North American tour dates as he focused on his ongoing recovery.
“As an artist, I think we are all going to experience some things that people may not necessarily understand, and a life that comes with a great deal of pressure,” Usher said. “I think he has obviously taken the world on a journey. And that journey, I am happy that I was at the beginning of, and I am still a part of to this day, as a friend.”
“I think that whatever he may be experiencing right now, it’s actually really great to see that he has the support from his fans and his family,” he added.
Bieber dedicated a number of posts earlier today to a wedding he attended with wife Hailey.
Fresh off his Tiny Desk performance which spawned the “Watch This” meme, Usher started My Way: The Vegas Residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM this past Friday. His residency is scheduled to conclude in late October.
