It’s been over three years since the tragic death of the late great electronic music producer SOPHIE. Her estate has now revealed the tracklist of her her posthumous, self-titled album in celebration of what would have been her 38th birthday.
SOPHIE, which was first announced in June, features collaborations with the likes of Kim Petras, Nina Kraviz, Bibi Bourelly and her former girlfriend Evita Manji. The album will be released on September 27th via Transgressive Records and Future Classic.
At the time of her devastating passing in 2021, the album would have been nearly complete. The Grammy-nominated producer died at the age of 34 following an accidental fall from a three-story building in Athens.
“Sophie didn’t often speak publicly of her private life, preferring to put everything she wanted to articulate in her music,” reads a statement from Transgressive Records. “It feels only right to share with the world the music she hoped to release, in the belief that we can all connect with her in this, the form she loved most.”
