TOKiMONSTA Cancels Tour, Delays Album Release Amid Family Emergency

TOKiMONSTA Announces New Studio Album, "Eternal Reverie"

TOKiMONSTA has cancelled an upcoming tour and postponed the release of a new album due to a family emergency, she announced today.

The renowned DJ and dance music producer, whose real name is Jennifer Lee, was set to release her seventh studio album Eternal Reverie on November 22nd via her own label, Young Art Records. An eponymous tour of the U.S. was scheduled to kick off this weekend, but has now been cancelled in lockstep.

“I am pretty crushed to share this news with you, but I know in my heart that I won’t be able to give you the performance and energy that you all deserve,” Lee said in a statement shared via social media. “You guys deserve me at my best and that’s just not where I am right now. I am safe and healthy but at this time, I need to direct all my energy to a family member who needs my support.”

Lee has requested privacy as she navigates the distressing personal matter, which she characterized as more dire than her 2015 diagnosis of Moyamoya disease, a rare and potentially fatal progressive cerebrovascular disorder that led to a pair of brain surgeries. That ordeal left her temporarily unable to speak and comprehend music.

“What I’m dealing with right now feels more emotionally taxing and difficult than anything I’ve faced before, even more so than my journey through Moyamoya brain surgery,” she added. “I hope you can understand how difficult this decision has been because I’ve never paused my music career before.”
