Ticket prices for Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour are dropping rapidly for some dates including those in Los Angeles and New Jersey. What’s the reason?

Initial high demand for these tour dates sent prices sky-high as fans clamored to secure their tickets during the artist pre-sale. Now that the dust has settled, taking a peek at the secondary ticketing market on SeatGeek reveals a glut of tickets that are priced well below $100. Some nosebleed tickets have been available for as low as $25, though those were quickly snapped up.

Searching dates at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles reveals tickets available for $50-$70, while tickets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ are priced at $40 and below. The secondary ticketing market appears flooded with listings and resellers are slashing their prices to avoid losses for low-demand dates.

Beyoncé’s team employed tiered pricing to segment buyers by their willingness to pay. That dynamic pricing backfired though, as resale inventory for several dates has outpaced demand. Most Queen Bey fans who wanted to see her live will have attended a ‘Renaissance’ tour date—so forking out cash for another tour might not be in the cards. That’s especially true for Bey fans who also want to see Lady Gaga, since she has not done an arena tour since 2018 (and all of her dates are now sold out).

It’s worth nothing that the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour’s 94% sellout rate lags behind the ‘Renaissance’ tour’s near instant sell-out. That’s also compounded by the fact that the ‘Renaissance’ tour was Bey’s first live arena tour since 2016—while the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour has rapidly followed that.

When looking at ticket prices for the upcoming tour, weekday and non-holiday shows face steeper discounts than high-profile dates like her July 4 show in Washington D.C. International dates in London and Paris also show the same volatility—suggesting these secondary ticketing prices may drop further as dates approach. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen concert tickets sold for cheap. Bruce Springsteen dates in Tulsa, OK went for single digits during his 2023/24 tour.
