Rising Stockholm indie-rock duo tibia has released their latest single, ‘Walk on Candy,’ offering another glimpse into their upcoming debut album, See What Heaven Looks Like Now, set for release on March 14.
‘Walk on Candy’ bursts with scuzzy guitars and raw energy, channeling the duo’s love for garage rock and indie pop into a track that feels both urgent and anthemic. Written as a message to any kid stuck in a small town dreaming of escape, the song carries a rebellious spirit, blending Beck-like grit with a sense of youthful longing. Its fizzing instrumentation and infectious hooks make it an undeniable highlight of tibia’s growing catalog.
“This is one of the few of our songs that didn’t start out from us tryna’ catch a vibe. Instead, we wanted to write a song that could be used like a weighted blanket for sad teens wanting to run far far away from their life. Feeling young and misunderstood sucks! But feeling like that usually means (at least like 70% of the time) that you’re a fucking star in the making. You’re smart enough to see that life is weird and cool enough to want more than what you’re getting. Nothing makes a star shine brighter than punching through dark times. So walk on Candy, this ain’t a life time after all.”
With See What Heaven Looks Like Now, tibia is carving out a sound that captures the reckless, exhilarating highs of youth. ‘Walk on Candy’ stands as a defiant anthem for anyone looking beyond their current horizon, proving that the duo’s music is as freeing as it is electrifying.
