Scottish alternative folk artist Theo Bleak unveils her latest single, ‘Peach Sky,’ a dreamy and introspective track that sets the tone for her upcoming EP, Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers, out May 15, 2025, via Polymoon.
Following the success of her previous single, ‘You Said I’d Feel It All Again,’ ‘Peach Sky’ continues Bleak’s exploration of memory and impermanence. The song blends ethereal guitar melodies, lush vocal layers, and cinematic textures to create an immersive listening experience. Drawing from influences like Radiohead, Mazzy Star, and Pinegrove, Bleak crafts a sound that is both intimate and expansive, balancing raw emotion with intricate production. Written with longtime collaborators Mark Johnston and Dan Gatreau, the track reflects on a pivotal moment in Bleak’s life, captured in its hazy, melancholic atmosphere.
Theo Bleak explains:
“I wrote the song from fragmented thoughts and observations I had kept record of, I wrote ‘Peach Sky’ with Mark (Johnston) and Dan (Gatreau), while reflecting on the second time I lived and worked on the Isle of Skye. The morning I left the island to return home, the sky was a beautiful peach colour. I reflected on how impermanent my feelings were.”
‘Peach Sky’ is out now.
