The Weeknd Shuts Down Troll as He Celebrates Streaming Milestones

The Weeknd has been taking a victory lap on Twitter, sharing news of his various milestones and career accomplishments.

First, on New Year’s Eve, the Toronto native celebrated his smash single “Blinding Lights” being on the brink of becoming the most-streamed song on Spotify.

He also retweeted a fan account declaring him the top artist on Spotify in 2022, a feat he has accomplished two times before.

The Weeknd spent this past weekend spreading the word about a few additional achievements that put him in rarefied air, including the category of most-streamed interlude of all time going to 2016’s “Stargirl (Interlude)” featuring Lana Del Rey.

The Weeknd was forced to put a troll in their place after they wrote that the Starboy collab with LDR is “still whack,” succinctly calling cap on them via emoji.

Another person asked for the full-length version of “Stargirl,” ignoring the fact that an interlude is defined in Merriam-Webster as “a usually short simple play or dramatic entertainment.”

The Weeknd continues to stack up wins, as his 2016 song “Die for You” cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time after receiving a second life on TikTok, according to Uproxx
