The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen Bit by Bat Onstage

Forty-two years after Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off a bat, the bat world finally retaliated on the rock universe. The Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen was bitten by a bat onstage while opening for AC/DC in Seville, Spain, on Wednesday night (May 29th).

Along with a video of the incident and her subsequent visit to the hospital, Momsen posted, “So…ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT … in Sevilla Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a BAT flew onto me and clung to my leg … in the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing … he was cute, but yes he bit me … so rabies shots for the next two weeks. thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning … more footage to come … that’s one for the books!!!!”

In the footage of the concert, Momsen is seen saying, “You guys are pointing at something, and I don’t know what you’re seeing,” moments later exclaiming, “There’s a fucking flying bat on my leg right now! Can someone help me please?” She then shrieks, before declaring, “I must really be a witch!”

Her bandmates and a photographer then rush to her side, with the photographer knocking the bat off Momsen’s leg, but not before taking a few close-up pictures first.

As Momsen mentioned, she will have to get rabies shots for the next two weeks, as The Pretty Reckless continue to support AC/DC on the latter’s UK/European tour through mid August (pick up tickets here).

Thankfully, she appears to be OK, and now has a great rock ‘n’ roll moment to talk about for decades to come.

The Pretty Reckless are touring in support of their 2021 album Death by Rock and Roll, while AC/DC are in the midst of their first tour in eight years.
