The Mars Volta have released their new album, Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio. Stream it below.
Lucro sucio has been described as an “atmospheric and moody” album in which Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala revisit their roots by blending the band’s “signature sound with jazz and electronica influences, celebrating their origins while pushing forward with fresh innovations.”
Ahead of its release, some fans received an early preview of the album. The group performed the LP in its entirety every night as a supporting act on Deftones’ recently concluded spring North American tour, while Bixler-Zavala reportedly gifted a delivery worker who brought food to The Mars Volta’s hotel with a burned CD-R advance copy of the album.
