Irish folk duo The Awning has released their second single, ‘Empty Plateau.’
Following the success of their debut single ‘July,’ ‘Empty Plateau’ offers another example of the duo’s ability to craft hauntingly beautiful music. With multi-instrumentalists and singer/songwriters Darragh Purcell and Evan Flaherty at the helm, the song features harmonies reminiscent of artists like Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes.
About ‘Empty Plateau’ the band say..
“‘Empty Plateau’ is a poignant exploration of the deep complexities within a fractured family relationship. The song captures the yearning for a connection that was never fully realized, weighed down by trust issues and painful betrayals. It conveys the heartbreak of witnessing a loved one’s self-destructive behavior and the relentless cycle of hope and despair that follows, leaving a lasting impact on those who care the most.”
‘Empty Plateau’ is available now on your favorite DSP.
