Sum 41 will put a bow on their career with an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place during Canada’s JUNO Awards, set for March 30th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The honor will come a couple months after Sum 41 wrap up their farewell tour, which is slated to end with a two-night stand January 28th and 30th at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. Tickets for the remaining shows are available here.
“We’re excited to be back at the JUNOS and to receive this recognition,” said Sum 41 in a press release. “We’ve come so far as a band since we first started and we look forward to celebrating in Vancouver with our fans and fellow Canadian artists.”
Sum 41 will join the ranks of previous Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees such as Neil Young, Nickelback, Alanis Morissette, and Shania Twain, among others.
The 54th Annual JUNO Awards, hosted by Michael Bublé, will broadcast and stream live across Canada on March 30th at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, and globally at CBC Music’s YouTube channel.
Last year, Sum 41 announced that they would break up following a final tour and album. The band released the album Heaven :x: Hell in March of this year, and will travel across Canada in January for the final leg of their farewell tour.
Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley discussed the band’s farewell tour, final album, and his recently released memoir this past summer on an episode of Consequence‘s Kyle Meredith With… podcast. Listen below.
