YBN Nahmir has returned with his new EP Faster Car Music, Vol. 1, a year and a half after the release of his debut studio album Visionland.
The seven-track project includes the previously released singles “Where I’m From” and “Bows,” as well as a guest appearance from Jeremih (“Only One”).
Serving as the follow-up to the Alabama rapper’s Visionland, Faster Car Music, Vol. 1 was preceded by a string of loosies—including “Drop,” “Relax,” and “Dead Wrong,” which dropped earlier this summer—but don’t appear on Nahmir’s new project.
“Pip N’ Walk” also got a Gerard Victor-directed video on Friday:
After bursting onto the scene alongside YBN Collective counterparts YBN Cordae and YBN Almighty Jay, Nahmir staked his claim as a solo star on the back of the 2017 viral hit “Rubbin Off the Paint,” then emerging as a leading voice on YBN’s 2018 compilation, YBN: The Mixtape.
Despite reports that the collective broke up in 2020, in a GQ interview last year Nahmir maintained that they’re still intact.
“Hell yeah, it’s still a group. If I go on tour, and I ask Cordae to come on tour with me, he’ll come on tour and it’s gonna be a YBN tour,” Nahmir told GQ. “He don’t have to have that YBN shit in front of his name. But YBN is a family.”
