Ahead of the release of his upcoming Harry Fraud-produced album Montega, French Montana enlists Jadakiss and Benny the Butcher for his latest single “Bricks & Bags.”
“Bricks & Bags” is the latest song to be released from Montega, following last week’s “Blue Chills” and the Babyface Ray-featuring “Drive By.”
The new track opens with a verse from Benny, who raps that he should’ve “signed to Coke Boys, but I was selling dope, boy.” French delivers a verse of his own, before Jadakiss closes the song with a scene-stealing guest spot.
“They hit n***as with the RICO/the only drill we ever been on was from Home Depot,” Jadakiss raps on the track.
“For ‘Bricks & Bags’ me and Fraud wanted to bring together two artists that, to me represent that impeccable Cokeboy sound,” French said in a statement to Complex. “Jadakiss gave me one of my first major co-signs when we did ‘New York Minute’ in 2009. And Benny continues to show why he is one of the best artists to emerge out of the East Coast in the past few years.”
Fraud, who produced the track as well as the entirety of French’s forthcoming project, said,
“On ‘Bricks & Bags’ me and French wanted to create a record that brought us back to that grimy New York era that shaped our youth. A hard hitting beat with two of the deadliest lyricists in the game. Steel sharpens steel and this song personifies that.”
