Sony Music Publishing UK signs a worldwide publishing deal with breakthrough songwriter, producer, and artist Lostboy.
The creative force behind Tiesto’s highest charting US single, “The Motto,” with Ava Max, Pete Rycroft — better known as Lostboy — has become one of the most in-demand songwriters and producers in pop and EDM worldwide. With over one billion combined catalog streams, the UK-based Lostboy has achieved an impressive streak of international hits in the last two years: Tom Grennan’s “Little Bit of Love,” Griff’s “Black Hole,” Zedd and Kehlani’s “Good Thing,” Bebe Rexha’s “Sacrifice,” and Why Don’t We’s “Unbelievable.”
Lostboy has several new and upcoming releases this fall, including Ava Max’s “Million Dollar Baby,” new music from Ellie Goulding, and a follow-up to Tiesto’s “The Motto.” His latest hit, “The Motto,” recently achieved the number one spot on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, with over 440 million streams on Spotify alone.
“I’m so happy to be part of the Sony Music Publishing roster — the support from the whole team over the last couple of months has been amazing,” says Lostboy. “A massive thank you to SMP’s US and UK teams for making me feel so welcome. This next chapter looks so exciting thanks to you all.”
“I have had the privilege of working with Pete throughout my career, and he is without a doubt one of the world’s most exciting songwriters,” says Saul Fitton, Senior A&R Manager at Sony Music Publishing UK. “I’m thrilled to reunite with him and welcome him to SMP — we are all delighted to be a part of his next chapter, and I feel like we’re only just getting started.”
“Lostboy is an incredibly talented producer with so much versatility — all of us at SMP are so pleased to be working with him and we look forward to taking his creativity to new heights in this exciting phase of his career,” says Amanda Hill, Senior Vice President of Creative at Sony Music Publishing US.
