Jayden Federline, the 15-year-old son of Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline, is opening up about where he stands with his mother.
In an upcoming British ITV documentary, which has been previewed by The Daily Mail, Jayden and his older brother, 16-year-old Sean Preston, explained why they didn’t attend Britney’s wedding in June.
We initially reported on Britney’s response yesterday.
“At the time it just wasn’t a good time to go. I’m not saying that I’m not happy for her,” Jayden said. “I’m really happy for them, but she didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”
Jayden maintained that he loves his mother a lot, and hope that one day they can reconcile. “I hope for the best for you,” he said of Britney. “Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again.”
“It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally,” he continued. “When she gets better I really want to see her again.”
Spears took to Instagram on Friday to address her son’s comments.
“I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you everyday for the rest of my life,” she wrote. “My love for my children has no boundaries and it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother … and maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly.”
Britney added, “I completely understand your need to live with your father as I had to play the perfect role for 15 years for absolutely nothing.”
