This past weekend (May 8th-11th), the Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, was absolutely jam-packed with metal and hard rock fans from around the country for Sonic Temple 2025. For four straight days, seas of people — most donning all-black outfits and/or face paint — shouted along to legendary acts like Metallica, Korn, and a revived Linkin Park. Despite some minor bumps along the way, killer programming and the infectious energy of tens of thousands of festgoers riding the lightning resulted in pretty fucking sweet edition of Sonic Temple.
After a week-plus of rain in the Ohio capital, the rock gods smiled upon Sonic Temple. The weather was — get this, Ohioans — damn near ideal: warm but not overwhelmingly hot and, most importantly, dry. It was the perfect environment for a long weekend of growling, two-stepping, fist-pumping, and becoming one with those around you doing the same.
For those who were unable to catch this year’s festival, or for those looking to relive their experience, here’s a rundown of highlights from Sonic Temple 2025.
