Slipknot's Corey Taylor Covers Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club"

Slipknot singer Corey Taylor treated fans to a rendition of the Chappell Roan pop hit “Pink Pony Club” during his acoustic set at the Spookala Horror Convention in Tampa, Florida over the weekend.

The metal frontman showcased his softer side by performing the infectious tune toward the end of a 14-song set that also saw him covering Violent Femmes’ “Add It Up,” Foo Fighters’ “Everlong,” Incubus’ “I Miss You,” Nine Inch Nails’ “Something I Can Never Have,” and the Spongebob Squarepants theme, among cuts from his own bands Slipknot and Stone Sour.

Prior to performing “Pink Pony Club,” Taylor told the crowd, “I have something special for you. This last little bit is for fun. I know we’re all here to share our love of this genre and this music. However, there’s a part of us that’s a little crazy, a part of us that likes to live our best lives in other places. And I learned this next song specifically to dedicate to those people.”

Taylor then played a faithful yet abbreviated rendition of the Chappell Roan hit before launching into a fun version of Slipknot’s “Spit It Out” to close out the set.

Slipknot will be performing at European festivals throughout June, before returning to the States to play the Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, Ohio, on July 19th.
