Las Vegas’ Sick New World Festival was abruptly cancelled despite a stacked lineup which included headliners Metallica and Linkin Park.
Sick New World, a hard rock and alternative music festival set to kick off in Las Vegas in April 2025, has been abruptly cancelled, with festival promoters citing “unforeseen circumstances.” The event was originally due to be held at Las Vegas’ festival grounds on April 12, with headliners Metallica and Linkin Park and a stacked lineup of alternative rock and heavy metal favorites.
“It is with great disappointment that we announce that Sick New World will no longer take place in Las Vegas on April 12, 2025. Despite our best efforts, we’ve encountered unforeseen circumstances that we are unable to overcome for next year’s show,” reads an announcement on the festival’s website.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated SNW fans who had made plans to join us for another cultural celebration of hard rock, goth, alternative, and heavy music. Please stay tuned for further and future information regarding Sick New World.”
But the statement didn’t explain what unforeseen circumstances led to the cancellation of the 2025 edition of the festival. The festival organizers went on to say those who purchased tickets directly from Front Gate Tickets will be automatically refunded within 30 days.
The announcement comes just six weeks after the lineup reveal, which included Queens of the Stone Age, AFI, Evanescence, The Flaming Lips, Ministry, 311, Gojira, Acid Bath, Cradle of Filth, Orgy, Cannibal Corpse, Mastodon, and many more. Sick New World 2025 was going to feature Acid Bath’s first show in almost 30 years, in addition to headliners Metallica and Linkin Park and tons of other alt rock favorites.
Since the announcement of the cancellation implied the festival would resume in the future, it will be interesting to see how a 2026 Sick New World lineup might look. Lots of music festivals in 2024 and 2025 have been the victim of mounting costs.
