German shoegaze and dream pop outfit Scott Evil is set to release their debut album, Big Dipper, on June 5th via Spinda Records and Backpack Records. To kick off the album cycle, the band unveils ‘Circles.’
Blending shoegaze textures with elements of alternative rock and Midwest emo, ‘Circles’ is a direct and emotionally charged track that explores themes of identity and the psychological weight of comparison. The song’s energy is anchored by a dynamic rhythm section.
Reflecting on the track’s creation, the band shares:
“The idea came up after playing around quickly with a couple of chords; that’s why we called it “2 Gazy Chords” for a long time, even though in the end it’s actually three chords. The energy of the rhythm section hooked us right away, and the rest of the song came together pretty quickly.”
With Big Dipper set to arrive in June, Scott Evil is gearing up for an extensive run of live shows, including performances in Münster, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Stuttgart, as well as an appearance at Those Days Are Gone Fest in October. Fans can pre-order the album starting April 4th, with limited transparent lavender vinyl and standard black vinyl editions available.
