Sabaton have announced their 11th studio album, titled Legends, set for an October 17th release. The Swedish power-metal act has also unveiled two singles from the LP: “The Duelist” and “Lightning at the Gates.”
The band has long been known for tackling historic events and figures in its lyrics, and Legends is no different. The album touches on the legacies of Joan of Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, and sword-master Miyamoto Musashi.
The two new songs follow previously released tracks “Templars” and “Hordes of Khan,” which arrived in April and June, respectively.
Singer Joakim Brodén explains that Legends pairs well with the band’s 2014 album Heroes, stating, “Legends have always been woven into our music, and the Heroes album is the perfect example of that! I’m incredibly proud of Heroes and everything it stands for, so Legends is just a natural next step. It’s like the story continues but goes way back in time. We’re excited to finally be taking our listeners on a new journey! Here’s to another chapter in Sabaton’s story!”
