Prewn shares haunting new single ‘System’ from upcoming album

Prewn has returned with ‘System,’ the captivating title track from her newly announced album due out October 3, 2025, via Exploding In Sound. Alongside the release, the Los Angeles-based artist—whose real name is Izzy Hagerup—has unveiled a video directed by Sophie Feuer.
Driven by eerie strings and a restless intensity, ‘System’ builds slowly into a powerful emotional crescendo. It’s anchored by Hagerup’s singular vocal presence and shaped by the intimate, solitary conditions in which the track was created. Like the album it leads, ‘System’ was written, performed, and recorded entirely by Hagerup, lending the song a stark and deeply personal tone.
“When I wrote ‘System’ I was supposed to be present and alive and gracious and happy. But somehow I couldn’t escape my own internal fears and depression that can follow me wherever I go.”
‘System’ is out now.
