Portishead singer Beth Gibbons recently stopped by NPR for a solo acoustic Tiny Desk Concert ahead of her upcoming tour dates in Australia, the UK, and Europe. Watch a replay below.
During the performance, Gibbons and her seven-piece band squeezed into the Tiny Desk space, primarily performing selections from her 2024 solo debut album, Lives Outgrown. Gibbons’ haunting voice cut through the scaled-back instrumentation, which featured guitar, piano, percussion, and a string section.
After playing the album cuts “Tell Me Who You Are Today,” the previous Song of the Week “Floating on a Moment,” and “Lost Changes,” Gibbons concluded the four-song set with “Mysteries,” the opening track from Out of Season, her 2002 collaborative album with Rustin Man.
