Patreon announces a podcasts partnership program alongside Sony Music and Wondery, giving creators even more ways to reach fans.

Patreon is launching its podcast network with select shows from Sony Music and Wondery to start. Each show will offer exclusive media and fan experiences. Patreon plans to onboard a selection of podcasts from each network, and help them release exclusive media, offer new fan perks, and unlock additional revenue streams.

The launch kicks off with Wondery shows “Scamfluencers,” “Killer Psyche,” and “Kurt Krömer – Feelings,” as well as Sony Music shows “Getting Better with Jonathan Van Ness,” “This is History,” and “Lipstick on the Rim.” The Wondery shows are available on Patreon starting today, while the Sony Music shows are “coming soon.” Even more shows and networks will be available in the near future.

Patreon says in the last year alone, podcasters on the platform earned over $472 million from over 6.7 million paid memberships, making podcasting the single highest-earning category of creativity on the platform.

“With more than 6.7 million paid memberships in the podcasting category alone, making podcasting the highest earning category on Patreon, we see a ton of fan engagement from podcast communities on Patreon, and we’re continuing to build for independent podcasters and networks alike,” says Patreon.

The platform is also launching new podcast-specific products and tools that will be available to all Patreon creators. Podcasts will soon be able to host their entire catalog (both free and paid episodes) on Patreon, through RSS syncing and importing. For creators with multiple shows, it’ll be even easier to start, organize, and manage multiple shows all from one account.

Fans can also subscribe to a super-feed with all shows in one feed. There are now more ways for podcasts to sell and earn from their shows with Patreon’s upgrade collections feature. Creators can package episodes together for a one-time purchase, making it easier for shows to sell collections as series or seasons.
