‘Last’ follows the album’s earlier singles ‘Safety Car‘ and ‘Waawooweewaa.’
OK Cool, the Chicago-based duo of Bridget Stiebris and Haley Blomquist Waller, has released ‘Last,’ the final single ahead of their debut album Chit Chat, which arrives this Friday, August 1st.
Inspired by Basement’s ‘Oversized,’ ‘Last’ is described by Stiebris as “a really heavy shoes walking kind of song.” She adds, “I really love combining acoustic and electric guitars–which is something I’ve learned while making this record–and giving them each their own times to shine. I think it makes for a really blended and colorful piece of music. This is probably my favorite track on the record and one of my all time favorites of ours.”
Entirely self-written, performed, and produced by Stiebris and Blomquist Waller, Chit Chat showcases the pair’s evolving sonic palette and the strength of their creative bond. The 10-track LP features engineering by fellow Chicago artists Avery Black, Brad Harvey, and Wesley Reno. Their live lineup includes drummer Josh Kayne and guitarist Tommy Kessler.
To celebrate the release, OK Cool will embark on a short headlining tour, kicking off with a hometown show at Chicago’s Subterranean on August 14th, followed by stops in Cleveland, New York, and Philadelphia.
