Noah Kahan's Playlist for Hiking and His Tour Ending: Video

Welcome to another episode of Mixtapes!, a video interview series where an artists shares their musical tastes via a fishbowl of absurd situations. For the latest edition, Noah Kahan soundtracks taking a hike, stepping in gum, and getting over a sickness.

When Noah Kahan sat down with us for our latest cover story interview, it wasn’t all serious conversations about his career and mental health advocacy. We had some fun with the folk-pop star, too, as he sat down for a special edition of Mixtapes! captured at Topeka’s Moon Crush Pink Moon festival in Miramar Beach, Florida.

You don’t ask a native of the Northeast about his beach tunes, however. No, you fill the fishbowl plastic sand bucket with prompts about hiking in the Vermont mountains; sitting at home with his dog, Penny; or delivering a message to his teenage self. Of course, we’re also talking one of the biggest artists in the world right now, so we want to know what he’s listening to once his massive upcoming summer tour (get tickets here!) is finally over.

His choices include cuts from Hozier (natch), Bright Eyes (“Every time I sit down to write music, I think about how Conor [Oberst] might write it”), Paul Simon, Big Sean, and even former Mixtapes!/CoSigns artists Chappell Roan. See what songs Noah Kahan picked for what situations above (or via YouTube), and then listen to his complete playlist below.
