Ninajirachi Announces Debut Album, "I Love My Computer"

Before TikTok made bedroom producers famous, Ninajirachi was already building her world in the glow of a computer screen in the Central Coast region of Australia. Now, the virtuosic electronic music producer has announced her long-awaited debut album, I Love My Computer, an ode to the machine she’s described as “the greatest collaborator I’ll know in this lifetime.”

The album’s title reflects her journey from discovering EDM through a YouTube video about tie-dyeing denim shorts to becoming one of Australia’s most promising electronic artists. Ninajirachi was named by EDM.com as one of the best music producers of 2022 before releasing a pair of stunning EPs, 4×4 and girl edm.

She opened up about the album on social media, reflecting on the digital coming-of-age that all aspiring DJs and music producers experience, like diving into the rabbit holes of digital audio workstations and navigating the grainy qualities of YouTube-to-mp3 rips.

“my whole world cracked open when i heard computer music for the first time,” Ninajirachi wrote. “there was a song in the background of a youtube video on how to tie dye denim shorts that sent me on a treasure hunt as a little girl. i’ve spent hundreds of late nights and thousands of hours soaking up everything i can about it, not realising how much the discovery and curiosity would end up shaping my life.”

She’s not exaggerating. Her distorted, candy-coated beats have led her to perform on a number of the world’s largest festival stages, like Lollapalooza and EDC Las Vegas. She was also commissioned by Ableton, the world’s preeminent DAW, to create the official demo project for its Live 11 software.

I Love My Computer represents what Ninajirachi calls her “best work,” marking a significant milestone for an artist who has spent “thousands of hours” perfecting her craft in bedroom studios and late-night sessions.

“i may never have stumbled upon edm or electronic music without my computer, i’m from a working class family in small town regional australia where it doesn’t really exist,” she continued. “all of my music is computer music, it’s my instrument, i spend more time with it than any one person and i don’t know who i would be without it.”

I Love My Computer is due out in August 2025.
